BATESVILLE - Willie Edward Lantrip, 77, died April 25, 2008, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville. He was born July 13, 1930 to Vuron Edward and Willie Essie Sprayberry in Pontotoc County, Miss. He was a member of New Life Church and owner and operator of Lantrip Garage. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Services were at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with burial in Forrest Memorial Park.
Survivors included his wife of 57 years, Johnnie Laverne "Sally" Young Lantrip of Batesville; two daughters, Sally Ann Loggins of Walls, Miss., Brenda Joyce Smith of Tupelo; two sons, Jerry Wayne Lantrip and Willie Ayne Lantrip both of Batesville; three sisters, Wilma Malone of Texas, Margie Earnest of Okolona, and Marie Youngblood of Senatobia, Miss.; one brother, Raymond Lantrip of Pontotoc; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granchild.
