MADISON - Dorothy Ruth Martin Moore, 77, formerly of Batesville, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at her residence.
Services were Monday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Madison. Burial was in Jessemine. Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home had charge.
Moore, born June 5, 1930, in Batesville, to the late Dudley Kersh “D.K.” Martin and Daphner Corrine Donaldson Martin, graduated from MSCW and began her teaching career in Greenwood. She married on June, 1954, and moved to Jackson where she taught in Jackson Public Schools retiring from Callaway High School in 1987. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Survivors included her husband, Shelby Earl Moore of Madison; one son, Marty Moore and wife, Kim; two daughters, Shellie Sims and husband, Jerry and Cyndie Robertson and husband, Gene; one sister, Lou Sanders Shelton and seven grandchildren, Jordan and Austin Moore, David and Sarah Sims and Emily, Shelby and Katie Ruth Robertson.
