SLEDGE - John Edwin Boyd Jr., 87, died June 14, 2008, at Northwest Regional Medical Center.
Services were at Sledge United Methodist Church. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.
Boyd, born Dec. 10, 1920, was a member of Sledge United Methodist Church. He was in the U.S. Army Corps during WWII and a navigator on a B-24. He was retired from Farm Bureau Insurance.
Survivors included his wife, Louise Howze Boyd of Sledge; two sons, John Boyd III of Como and Don Boyd of Rosemark, Tenn. and one granddaughter.
