Augusta, MS was located where MS Highway 29 crosses Leaf River about 3 miles from the present site of New Augusta. The settlement of Augusta declined and died after the railroad went through at New Augusta. There's a Stevens/Myers cemetery not far from there, but I don't know if any Tisdales are buried in it. I also don't know of the site of any old cemeteries there -- I was pretty familiar with the area 40 years ago, and don't remember running across any deserted cemeteries, but there are no doubt some there.
You might contact the Perry County Courthouse in New Augusta, Chancery Clerk's office, and see if anyone knows anything about the old cemeteries.
