Melissa, there are (or were) Odoms around Whitfield community, which is between Runnelstown in Perry County and Ellisville in Jones County. It's not an "official" town, and lies just about on the county line. Ellisville would definitely have been the nearest sizeable village, and probably where they would have gone to trade. But if they were in Perry County, the records would be in the Courthouse at New Augusta. The records that survived the two fires, that is -- one in the 1880s, one just a few years ago.
