Black Creek runs through the SW corner of Perry County. There are Bonds still in that area, I think. The closest town in the county would be Beaumont or New Augusta, both about equally distant from Janice, the small community near Black Creek. That's pronounced JANE-us by the locals.

Someone in the courthouse might be able to tell you where the plantation was -- the land records go back to the mid-1880s, when the courthouse burned.
