Nancy C. May was a daughter of Hiram May (b.1786 Wilkes Co., GA - d. 1844 Pike Co., MS) and Rebecca Ann Curry (b. 1808 Miss. Territory - d. aft. 1870 Pike Co., MS)

Hiram May was a son of Joseph B. May Sr. (b. 9/15/1732 VA - d. 12/8/1829 Pike Co., MS) and his second wife, Mrs. Sarah Jane Campbell McLain (b. abt. 1764 Scotland - d. bef. 1829 Pike Co., MS).

Rebecca Ann Curry was the daughter of Jacob Curry and Avis Ellis. I don’t know very much about her parents other then Rebecca was reported to be half Choctaw Indian. After Hiram died, Rebecca married Jacob Owens and had a daughter, Miley Jane Owens (6/8/1846 - d. 8/25/1902) with him.

Joseph B. May Sr. was my g.g.g.g.g. grandfather though his son, John David May, who he had with his first wife, Elizabeth Baker…. and Jacob Owens was my g.g.g. grandfather through his daughter Nancy Owens, who he had with his first wife, Mary Googe.

I have more info on the May line if you want to email me - psmith9@hotmail.com

As to the Old Tylertown Cemetery, I’ve never been there, but you might try posting a query for directions on the Walthall County Gen Web or get in touch with Dell Magee Clawson.
