Rev. Ransom Monroe Holloway, 81, esteemed and respected citizen of the Randolph, community for 38 years, died at the family home February 16th, 1950. He suffered a stroke three weeks prior to his death.
Rev. Holloway was born in Chickasaw County but moved to Pontotoc county when a small boy. He pastored a number of Baptist Churches throughout this section for many years and was a member of the Randolph Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted February 17th at the Hartwell Tutor Cemetery with Rev. Jake Grubbs, Rev. Floyd Brasher and Rev. Joe Wilson in charge. A quartet composed of George W. Young, Hollis Wood, Olen Akers and Robert Lowery, sang at the services.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nancy Mitchell Holloway, and five sons, Wiley, Perry, Polie, David and Herman Holloway, and one brother Eddie Holloway of the Washington Community.
