Oliver Larry Downs, 81, died April 23, 2008, at his home after a long illness. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Jesus Name House of Prayer. He loved running his beagles and rabbit hunting.
Services were at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Jesus Name House of Prayer Cemetery.
Survivors included his wife of 43 years, Daphene Hutchens Downs; four daughters, Margaret Farris of Corinth, Donna (Larry) Rickman of Paragould, Ark., and Cindy (Randy) Lambert and Cathy Dees, both of Booneville; three sons, Gary (Brenda) Downs of Tiplersville, and Scotty (Teresa) Downs and Gerald (Belinda) Stevens, both of Booneville; one sister, Vette Raney of Ripley; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; special friends, Bro. M.C. and Elsie Lambert; a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Anna Downs; a daughter, Linda (W.A.) Laster; a grandchild, Lunden Claire Stevens; a son-in-law, Joe Dees; four sisters, Willie Hutchens, Cora Ross, Ada Wooley and Oretta Rencher; and two brothers, Joey and Arvil Downs.
