Helen Veronica Halaska, 96, died April 24, 2008, at her home after a long illness. She was a member of the Catholic faith.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial was held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial was in the Valley of the Dogwood Cemetery in Corinth. McMillan Funeral Home of Booneville was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included two daughters, Nancy Bullock and Babette Oikion, both of Thrasher; one sister, Julia (Jerry) Ouper of Berwyn, Ill.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren.
