Glada Mae Johnson Sparks, 87, died May 18, 2008, at her home. She was born June 17, 1920, in Prentiss County to George Washington and Arie Thornton Johnson. She was a retired factory worker and a member of Siloam United Methodist Church.
Services were at Siloan United Methodist Church. Burial was in Siloam Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included one daughter, Janet Sparks of New Site; one son, Dwight (Cheryl) Sparks of New Site; a daughter-in-law, Ruby Sparks of Booneville; two sisters, Geraldine McCreary of Belmont and Osene Whitfield of Booneville; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Will C. Sparks; one son, Paul Wade Sparks; two sisters, Charlene Ford and Tessie Quay Johnson; two brothers, Quindon Johnson and Kenneth Eugene "Sonny Boy" Johnson.
