Charles W. Eckford, 52, died June 11, 2008, at his residence in Booneville. He was the son of the Rev. James R. Eckford and Johnie Mae Edward. He was a member of Oak Hill M.B. Church in Booneville. He was employed by the city of Booneville for 10 years.
Service were at Oak Hill M. B. Church in Booneville with burial in the Rienzi Cemetery. Agnew and Sons Funeral Home of Booneville was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors included his wife, Cheryl Eckford of Booneville; his stepmother, Hattie Eckford of Blue Spring; his mother-in-law, Essie Grizzard of Booneville; one son, Tarvares Ratliff of Horn Lake; two daughters, Tessica Eckford of Farmington Hills, Mich., and Charketa Eckford of Booneville; one God-daughter, Lolitha Sorrell of Booneville; two grandchildren, Tassaca Ikea Eckford of Booneville and Justive Rocain Floyd of Henderson, Ky.; four brothers, William E. Eckford (Mary) of Charleston, S.C., Larry J. Eckford (Maudine) of Clinton, Earl L. Eckford and Willie L. Eckford, both of Booneville; two sisters, Gennis V. Smith (Herman) of Biloxi and Lisa A. Crockett (Jerry) of Booneville; two stepbrothers, Bruce Kohliem and Glenn Kohliem; one stepsister; Denise Montgomery (William) of Sherman.
He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. James R. Eckford.
