Tabitha Jane Felker Cook died at age 73 after a long battle with lung cancer. Jane enjoyed a full and eventful life where she participated in numerous trades and adventures. While attending college, Jane was a member of the Lady Tigers basketball team at Northeast Junior College before going on to complete her education degree. After graduating, Jane taught P.E. at a high school in Phil Campbell, Ala., for a short time. Jane has worked as a telephone operator, a retail shoes sales associate and, her most interesting profession, a shoe cobbler. Jane owned and operated her own boot and shoe repair sho in downtown Booneville, where she sold and repaired leather goods. She was a member of the Booneville Church of Christ. Jane will be remembered most by her family and friends for her strong character and opinionated personality.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, T.A. Cook, and her parents, Jean and Quitman Felker.
Survivors included two children, Karen Stevens and her husband, Keith, and Tom Cook and his wife, Mitzi. Jane leaves behind four wonderful grandchildren and many very special friends.
Funeral services were June 26 at McMillan Funeral Home with burial in the Old Booneville Cemetery.
