Funeral services were held March 28. 1948 at the Kirkville Baptist Church for Leonard Thomas, farmer, who died at his home in Marietta on March 27th. He was 53 years old. Death came as a result of a heart attack which he suffered only a few minutes before. Mr. Thomas was a leader in the community where he lived. A deacon of the Ozark Baptist Church, he lived close to the tenets of the Christian faith he professed. He had been a member of the church for a long time.
Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Etta Waddle Thomas; two sons, Dillard and Marion Thomas of Marietta; a daughter, Mrs. D. D. Guin; five sisters, Mrs. W. R. Taylor, Mrs. W. A. Stephens, Mrs. Allen Hughes, Miss Luna Thomas and Miss Sybil Thomas, all of Marietta.
McMillen Funeral Home of Booneville was in charge.
