Mary Ruth Posey Smith, 59, died July 24, 2008, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Services were at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Jumpertown Cemetery.
Survivors included two daughters, Pamela Godwin (Shane) of Jacinto and Shelia Kilgore (Jim) of Iuka; four sons, Jimmy S. Smith (Jennifer), Yulas D. Smith (Laura) and Russell A. Smith (Chrissy), all of Jumpertown, and Chris Smith (Phyllis) of Corinth; one sister, Dorothy Stevens (Homer) of Booneville; six brothers, Marlin Posey (Laura) of Wheeler, Luther Posey (Eve) of Alabama, Tommy Posey (Brenda) of Pisgah, Jamie Posey of Saltillo, Johnny Posey (Jeannie) of Guntown and Dewayne Posey (Joyce) of Booneville; 19 grandchildren; her companion, Junior Cooper of Jumpertown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Durman D. and Lula Pearl Davis Posey; her husband, James S. "Samp" Smith; and a sister, Nadine Pace.
