I also had Jones relatives in Beat 3 Scott County, Mississippi. Mine was a great, great Uncle Named James D, Jones who was married to a Mary Elizabeth (possibly maiden name was Youngblood?). James did have a son named Richard but he was born just before or during the civil war. James D. Jones is listed on the 1860 census as being Probate Clerk of Scott County. I do know that some of my Jones people married George Keaton and one married a Myers. Many of my family moved to Trenton (Now West Monroe) La. including a family of Myers, after the war. About 1883 James D. Jones's Widow moved with some of her children to Texas, but later returned to Scott County and is buried beside her husband, but I don't know where they are buried.
