Hello Bill,
Thank you for the reply to my post. I don't have much on the Dixon's, my line is Roberts. This is all I know, hope it helps.
William Roberts born c1836 in Marengo County, Alabama married Seney Chapman, they had one son, Richard J. Roberts born Nov. 19, 1861 in Marengo County Al. William Roberts died April 26, 1863 in Tullahome, Tn., Breckenridge Hospital during the civil war. Seney never remarried, she lived with their son Richard the rest of her life. Richard married Theodocia Ernest Dixon from Dixon Mills, Marengo County, Alabama. Richard and Theodocia had two children, Hattie and Hassie who were born in Dixon Mills, Marengo County, Alabama. Then in early 1885 when Hassie was five weeks old Richard, his wife Theodocia their two daughters and Richard's mom, Seney, moved to Scott County Mississippi. Their only son, William Buena Vester Roberts was born Oct. 7, 1886 in Morton, Ms. Richard and Theodocia had three more daughters, Lela, Jewell and Dollie all were born in Morton, Ms. They are all buried in the Hodge Hill Cemetery, Morton, Ms. As you can see, my line is the Roberts, just so happened that a Roberts married a Dixon in Marengo County, Alabama. I have done a lot of research in Marengo County and I understand there were a lot of Dixon's there during the 1800's. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Good Luck.
Helen
