April 14, 2007 is the date on which the Samuel & Mary Brown Grave Marking Ceremony will be held. This will take place at 2:00 PM. on the grounds of the Rials Creek United Methodist Church (rural Mendenhall) or indoors in case of inclement weather. The DAR, SAR, OFF will mark the Brown graves in ceremony. Mark Henry, who is an attorny, is drafting a resolution to ask the Simpson County Board of Suoervisors to designate April 14 as Samuel Brown Day in the County. If you are or know of a Samuel Brown descendant, pass the word. I am sure you or they will not want to miss this special event.
