Dickie: Thank you for the information. You did answer one question and that was that there weren't any more Grubbses in Simpson at the time. Nathaniel Phillip Shotts, Jrs death certificate states that his mother was Sarah Ann Grubbs, therefore I do know that she was a Grubbs. Daniel C Shotts was in Simpson County as late as 1837. Nathaniel was his son, therefore, a conclusion is that Nathaniel and Sarah must have met and married in Simpson County. I have found no record so far, but who else could be her father? These families are in Clarke County by 1840, but cannot connect any Grubbs there to FM. It seems that a lot of info has been taken off the net, so it means a lot of footwork.
