Through the years I have often thought of the Preventorium, its history, who was there, why, and so forth. I was not there for very long; some months but not sure of how many. My parents were in the process of splitting up sometime in late 1959 or early 1960. Since I was a skinny, sickly little girl with what were probably also emotional problems, an uncle of my mother's who was a physician, recommended the Preventorium. I started first grade there but after my parents divorced my mother picked me up from there and we moved straight to Houston, TX.

I would like to communicate with others to share memories and impressions of the place. I not long ago learned that a guy I know was also at the Preventorim; he and his brother both. I believe it was in the early 60's. He did not have good memories; I think they were there for quite a time and had little contact with family.
