Swan Lake - HEDY PENNINGTON FLAUTT, 51 died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Visitation was at her home on Swan Lake Rd Tuesday November 8, 2005 at 9 a.m. until service time at her home at 11 a.m. She was born August 13, 1954 to James Green and Marinee Thomas Pennington. She married Michael "Catfish" Flautt on August 28, 1975 in Clarksdale, MS. She was a lifelong resident of Tallahatchie County. Hedy was a member of Webb Baptist Church, Webb, MS. She graduated from Strider Academy in 1972. She continued her education at the University of Mississippi where she earned a degree in marketing and business. During her years at Ole Miss she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority, University Dancers and was selected Best Dressed on campus. She then continued her education at Belmont College in Nashville, TN. During her 20 years as a math teacher at Strider Academy , she touched the lives of many children in Tallahatchie County. As the owner of Hedy Flautt School of Dance she taught many young country ladies the art of tap, jazz and ballet dancing. She was a member of the Plantation Garden Club in Sumner, MS and a member of the Memphis in May Barbecue team, PIG PATROL. After retiring from teaching, she was the co-owner and head chef for Tallahatchie Hunts from 2000-2005, during which time she and her husband Mike, hosted hunters from 25 different states and several foreign countries. As spirit coach for the girls basketball team at Pillow Academy, she cheered her daughter Clansey's Lady Mustangs to the MPSA Overall Championship.. She is survived by her husband Michael, "Catfish" Flautt of Swan Lake, MS, Sons Bolton Flautt of Jackson, MS, Alben Flautt and wife Emily of Webb, MS. Daughter; Clansey Flautt of Oxford, MS, Mother, Marinee Thomas of Webb,MS and a brother Jim Pennington of Webb, MS. She was preceded in death by her father James Green Pennington.
