Cascilla - GEORGE H. SPEIR, 82, Tallahatchie Medical Examiner, died Monday, November 14, 2005 at Tallahatchie County Hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 16 at Newsom Funeral Home, Charleston, MS. Burial in Magnolia Garden. Mr. Speir, retired from the military 33 years, retired postmaster, retired civil defense coordinator, past master mason, medical examiner, leaves his wife Hattie Ruth Speir; a daughter, Sherry Speir Schultz; a son, Gerry Speir, both of Charleston; two sisters, Catherine S. Carnes of Atlanta, GA and Babe S. Young of Dunedin, FL; a brother, John C. Speir of Villa Rice, GA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
