Tutwiler - NAIDA GRESHAM MANNING PEARSON, 98, at home in Tutwiler, MS passed on to heaven on February 6, 2007. She was born on February 16, 1908 in the Walnut community of Quitman County to James Henry and Etna Stark Manning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Keith Pearson, Sr.; a son, Bobby James Pearson of Denair, CA; two daughters, Dr. Etna Stark Pearson and June Pearson; one granddaughter, Karen Michelle Pearson; twobrothers, James Edgar and Oliver Blythe Manning; and two sisters, Blanche Manning Sarver and Elizabeth ‘Bess’ Lee Manning Reisser. Survivors include one son, Jesse Keith Pearson, Jr. and wife, Fredna, with whom she resided; two daughters, Patricia Cooper and husband, Darrell, of Long Beach, CA and Naida Owczarzak and husband, John, of Michie, TN and her nurse and companion, Erma Wells, eight grandchildren, Steve Pearson and Mark Pearson of Fresno, CA, Janet Johns of Webb, MS, “Dusty” Pearson of Batesville, MS, Dawn Pearson of Tutwiler, MS, Beth Brown of Michie, TN, Lee Cooper and Candace Harmon of Long Beach, CA; nine great-grandchildren, Drew Schultz, Tracy Johns, Terry Clark, Holly Pearson, Jesse Pearson, Joseph Pearson, Danyel Royal, Christian Cooper and Garrett Harmon; and two great-great-grandchildren, Karen and Makayla Clark. “Gram” had an infectious smile that would warm your heart instantly and she loved her Lord mightily. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Tutwiler, and served in the Women’s Missionary Union for many years as church president and District President. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Steve Pearson, Janet Johns, Dusty Pearson, Dawn Pearson, Beth Brown, Lee Cooper, Candace Harmon, Tracy Johns and Terry Clark. Funeral service will be held Friday at2 p.m., February 9, at First Baptist Church in Tutwiler with burial in Lambert Cemetery.
