Looking for info. for on the Greenwood L. Sharkey family.
My G-G-grandfather.

In September 1870 the Sharkey family was living in District 4, Tallahatchie Co., Miss. somewhere near the town of Charleston. Greenwood L., age 37, was a farmer. Mother Talula K., age 33, was keeping house. Son, Robert, age 11 born in Louisiana and Daughters Myra 9 years old born in Lousiana, Stella C., age 6, born in Mississippi about 1861 and Meda E., age 1, also born in Mississippi about 1869. (Ref: 1870 US Federal Census)
Greenwood died along with his two youngest daughters sometime between 1870 and 1880.

Looking for a connection to The Sharkey Plantation, built by Greenwood Leflore Sharkey in 1857. It was burned down during the Civil War.
Also a Greenwood L Sharkey is listed as one of Tallahatchie’s largest slave holders. He owned 78 slaves at the time. (Ref: 1860 Mississippi Census Slave Schedule)
