Kenneth Henry “Hank” Kirk Jr. , 48, of Charlotte, N.C., died on July 17, 2007, in a local Charlotte Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Hank will always be remembered as a loving husband, son and friend. He was born on January 7, 1959, in Clarksdale, MS to Kenneth Henry Kirk Sr. and Marion Warfield Harlow. He was raised in Clarksdale and graduated from Lee Academy and University of Mississippi. Hank was a communicant of St. George’s Episcopal Church during his time in Clarksdale. While attending the University of Mississippi he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He enjoyed a successful sales career which took him all over the country. He had many hobbies and talents, but his greatest accomplishment was the joy and love he brought to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Degnan Kirk of Charlotte; his father, Kenneth Henry Kirk of Tupelo, MS.; his brother, Warfield Dixon Kirk of Jackson, MS; his sisters, Boyce Harlow Robbins of Minter City, MS and Rivers Harlow Humber of Clarksdale, MS; his stepfather, Charles Harlow of Clarksdale, MS; his uncle, Dr. William P. Warfield of Pascagoula, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at St. George’s Episcopal Church with burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Tunica, MS. Visitation will be held Friday night from 5 to 7 at Parish Hall at St. George’s Episcopal Church. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home of Clarksdale is in charge of arrangements.
