Independence - WILBUR RAY TAYLOR, 67, passed away in Senatobia, MS on Wednesday, March 19. He was a retired welder from Dover Elevators and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Kay Taylor of Strayhorn, MS and by his two sons, Danny Taylor and Tracy Taylor, both of Independence, MS. He leaves one sisters, Verna Lee Todd of Hernando, MS and by five brothers, Russell Taylor, Wayne Taylor of Coldwater, MS, Floyd Taylor, Howard Taylor,both ofHernando, MS and Kenneth Taylor of Pope, Ms. He also leaves five grandchildren. Mr. Taylor was the son of the late Cecil and Marguerite Taylor of Coldwater, MS. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Taylor and by two sisters, Kay Nesbitt and Betty Miller. Visitation for Mr. Taylor will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 21 from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, in the Chapel of Pate-Jones Funeral Home at 11 a.m., with Rev. Alvin Whitehead, officiating. The burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Independence, MS.
