May Bell Moffitt Haynes, 92, died April 19, 2008, at her granddaughters home in Dumas.
She was a homemaker and a member of Wesley Congregation Methodist Church near Ripley. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and cooking.
Services were at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley with burial in Weir's Chapel Cemetery near Ripley. McBride Funeral Home in Ripley was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include eight grandchildren; Dell Carrington, Cheri Peterson, Becky Anderson all of Memphis, Johnny Haynes of Booneville, Charlie Haynes of Ripley, Connie Gonzalez of Ripley, Terri Spencer of Dumas and Bridget Webb of Arlington, Tenn.; 14 great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie F. Haynes; her parents, Hardy Wallace and Docia Long Moffitt; three sons, Ed Haynes, Marshal Haynes and Dewitt Haynes; one daughter, Ruby Lee Bryant and three brothers and one sister.
