Carra Elizabeth Tapp James, 93, died May 11, 2008, at the Tippah County Hospital in Ripley. She was a retired seamstress for McGregor Sportswear Company in Walnut. She also sewed for the public. She was a member of West Ripley Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and loved all outside work.
Services were at McBride Funeral Home in Ripley with burial in Tippah Memorial Gardens in Ripley.
Survivors included one daughter-in-law, Wilma James of Ripley; two grandchildren, Cathy James of Nashville, Tenn., and Jerry James of Ripley; five sisters, Omie Bruce of Eads, Tenn., Mayon Paseur of Memphis, Natalie Gray of Falkner, and Nettie Brown and Inez Otten (Russell) of Walnut; two brothers, S.A. Tapp (Billie) of Walnut and James Tapp (Janie) of Corinth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Allen "Hanna" James; one son, Claude James; her parents, Samuel "Hanna" and Emily Huddleston Tapp; two sisters, Ruby James and Lillian James.
