Pauline Ward, 89, died May 19, 2008, at Tippah County Nursing Home in Ripley. She was born Jan. 12, 1919, to John Summerfield Simpson and Donnie Hudspeth Simpson. She was a member of Beech Hill Church of Christ and a homemaker.
Services were at Beech Hill Church of Christ with burial in Beech Hill Cemetery. Ripley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included one daughter, Paulette Clark (Gerald) of Ripley; one son, Dwight Ward (Charlotte) of Ripley; one sister, Louise Hobson (Troy) of Ripley; one brother, Jimmy Simpson (Earlene) of Hickory Flat; three grandchildren, Emily Ward of Henderson, Tenn., Rachel Ward and Patrick Clark, both of Ripley; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Ward; her parents; one sister, Estelle Dickerson; and one brother, Lawson Simpson.
