Lorene Hatcher Grant, 76, died May 19, 2008, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Feb. 8, 1932, to Luther and Hazel Robinson Hatcher. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and retired from Biltrite.
Services were at Fellowship Baptist Church with burial in Fellowship Cemetery. Ripley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included two daughters, Charlotte G. McCord of Tupelo and Mary Street (J. L.) of Ripley; four sons, James Grant (Barbara) of Haleyville, Ala., David Grant (Patty), Mack Grant (Brenda) and Dennis Grant, all of Ripley; four sisters, Sally Robbins, Modell Robbins, Eloise Hurt and Diane Reeves; two brothers, the Rev. Johnny Hatcher and Delane Hatcher; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Grant; her parents, Luther and Hazel Robinson Hatcher; six sisters, Ruby Haynes, Mabel Hurt, Nettie Newby, Angie Till, Ludie Wilbanks and Bessie Holt; seven brothers, Clyde Hatcher, Lloyd Hatcher, Murray Hatcher, Jessie Hatcher, Arvid Hatcher, Rev. Hyman Hatcher and Jodie Hatcher; one son-in-law, Junior McCord; one daughter-in-law, Debra Grant; one great-granddaughter, Anna Claire Street.
