Nancy Frances Irene Roten Yancey, 92, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Trinity Mission Rehabilitation of Great Oaks in Byhalia. She was formerly of Ripley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Georgian Hills United Methodist Church in Memphis. She touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed.
Services were at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley with burial in Rucker Cemetery in Ripley.
Survivors included two daughters, Ouida Smith (Gerald) of Frisco, Texas, and Patricia M. Gipson (James) of Barton; two grandchildren, Mark R. Pierce (Jodi) and David A. Pierce, both of Hernando; two great-grandchildren, Justin D. Pierce and Laci E. Pierce, both of Hernando; three sisters, Vern Hollowell and Elone Ford, both of Ripley, and Gladys Graves of Tupelo; one brother, Kenner “Brud” Roten of Ripley.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Mark S. Yancey; one daughter, Hildreth E. Yancey; her parents, Andy B. and Minnie Davis Roten; five sisters, Flora Roten, Elma Michaels, Murry Moffitt, Georgia Duncan and Annie Yancey; and two brothers, Olin Roten and Pearl Roten.
