Kyle Narce Smith Sr., 78, formerly of Auburn Hill, Mich., died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at his daughter's residence in Ripley. He was born Aug. 18, 1929, to Walter K. and Lettie C. Tapp Smith. He was a Methodist and a retired factory worker from General Motors. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict.
Graveside services were at New Prospect Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Ripley Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included two daughters, Sherry Brown of Auburn Hills, Mich., and Tiara Edge (Michael) of Ripley; one son, Kyle N. Smith Jr. (Joy) of Attica, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Kyle N. Smith III, Jarrett O. Smith, Jason C. Smith, Ulysess A. Brown, Brandy L. Miracle, Wesley W. Davis and Shelby L. Davis; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Windham Smith; his parents; one sister, Opal Merritt; and one brother, Clifford Smith.
