Donald Victor Reaves, 69, died June 15, 2008, at his residence in Ripley. He was born on March 1, 1939, in Tippah County, to F.E. and Ruby Sanford Reaves. He was a deacon of West Ripley Baptist Church. He was a Sunday School teacher, and a 32nd degree Mason. He retired from the Ripley Fire Department and was a retired truck driver. He served as Deputy Sheriff of Tippah County in 1964. He loved his family, and never met a stranger. He loved rabbit hunting.
Services were at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Tippah Memorial Garden.
Survivors included his wife, Betty Dunnam Reaves of Ripley; one daughter, Wanda Carter (Jeff) of Myrtle; one son, Chris Reaves (Teresa) of Ripley; one sister, Martha Ann Roberts of Columbus; one brother, Hollis Reaves (Jeweleen) of Springfield, Tenn.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
