Oneal Williams Brown, 79, died July 4, 2008, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Ripley. She was born on Sept. 28, 1928, to Sam Whitehead and Leona Rumsey Whitehead. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, a factory worker, and a homemaker.
Services were at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in New Salem Cemetery.
Survivors included two daughters, Brenda Crawford of Memphis, Tenn., and Sara Graham of Germantown, Tenn.; the father of her children, Luther Williams; four sisters, Sue Harris of Moscow, Tenn., Betty Tomlinson of Walnut, Bonnie Carter of Atlanta, Ga., and Mae Pearson of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Greg Britt (Kelly) of Fruita, Colo., Billy Hood (Megan) of Southaven and Matt Tomlinson (Tabby) of Holly Springs; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Brown; her parents; one sister, Etoil King; two brothers, Omer Lee Whitehead and Billy Whitehead Jr.
