Charles David Greer, 48, died May 3, 2009, at the Tippah County Hospital. He was a sawmill worker and loved mechanic work.
Services were at New Harmony United Methodist Church with burial in the Rucker Cemetery. Ripley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included four stepdaughters, Angie Akins (Barry) and Chrystal Graves Winters, both of Ripley and Tonya Lynn Higgins (Keith) and Ginger Nell Roberts (Trey), both of New Albany; seven grandchildren, Dustin, Barrett, Rob, Mikey, C.J., Christy and Chris; five sisters, Ruth Greer (Gene) of Wheeler, Fran Mardis of Pine Grove, Diane Greer of Ripley, Lou Walsh (David) of Cordova, Tenn., and Denise Greer (Isom) of Walnut; two brothers, Luther Greer Jr. (Julia) of Falkner and Mitchell Greer (Missy) of Ripley; six nieces; nine nephews; eight great-nieces; 10 great-nephews; one great-great niece; and one great-great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Palmer Greer; his parents, Luther and Katie Windham Greer; a brother, Gregory Joe Greer; and one brother-in-law, Larry Mardis.
