Delbert R. Sparks, 69, died June 6, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Jan. 19, 1939, in Tishomingo County to Audie and Lera Johson Sparks. He was retired from Schnadig and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Services were at the New Bethel Baptist Church in Belmont with burial at the New Bethel Cemetery in Belmont. Deaton Funeral Homes of Belmont was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors included two sisters, Maxine Pardue and Mable Alexander, both of Belmont; one brother, Gene Sparks (Peggy) of Belmont; eight nieces and nephews, Wade Pardue, Debbie Nale, Karen Walker, Lisa Clarin, Tracy Eubanks (Scott), Amy Eaton, Greg Sparks (Lauren) and Melissa Hammock (Tim); a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lex Sparks.
