Ruby Clytee Nichols Smith, 100, died July 1, 2008, at Tishomingo Manor in Iuka. She was born Nov. 1, 1907, in Mississippi to William E. and Mary Williams Nichols. Mrs. Smith was a factory worker, lunchroom worker, an excellent seamstress and homemaker, but most of all, a mother and grandmother. She loved her family. She was a member of Belmont Church of Christ. Services were July 3 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with burial in Lindsey Cemetery in Dennis. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont was in charge. Survivors included three children, Clytee Hansberger (Lyle) of Pontotoc, Willie Smith (JoAnn) of Belmont and Carolyn Osborn (Clifton) of Southside, Ala.; one brother, Hugh Nichols (Kathleen) of Belmont; one sister, Mary Lynn Wilbanks of Collierville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Lisa Hansberger and Susan Hansberger, both of Tupelo, Joey Underwood of Pontotoc, Steve Smith (Frankie), Greg Smith (Claudia), Tim Smith (Tina) and Robby Smith (Tamara), all of Belmont, Jason Osborn of Cullman, Ala., and Jesse Osborn of Rainbow City, Ala.; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Lee Smith; two sons, Murry Douglas and Roy Lyle Smith; one brother, Haston C. Nichols; and two sisters, Opal Nichols and Fonza Smith.
