Funeral services were held Sept. 30, 1956 for W. B. Farris, 74, of Route 1, Golden. Mr. Farris died after a short illness from a heart ailment. He had lived in and around Golden all of his life and was a retired farmer. Death came at 10:00 p.m. on Sept. 28, 1956. Services were conducted from the Antioch Church with burial in the Butler Cemetery. The deceased had been a member of the Red Bay Church of God for years.
Survivors included his wife, Mrs. W. B. Farris of Golden; three sons, Nolen Farris of Belmont, Grady Farris of Golden and Arlis of Arkansas; three daughters, Mrs. Varnie Williams of Belmont, Mrs. Cecil Pruitt of Gary, Ind., and Mrs. Hester Keeton of Missouri; two brothers, Luther Farris of Double Springs, Ala., and Dexter Farris of Red Bay; and a sister, Mrs. Pattie Hall of Russellville, Ala.
