Sylvia Orick, 88, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of the Berea Church of Christ and a homemaker. She loved her family, caring for others and gardening.
Services were at Berea Church of Christ with burial in Little Flock Cemetery.
Survivors included one son, Gary Orick (Charlotte) of Burnsville; one sister, Minnie McAnally of Burnsville; one grandson, Wesley Orick (Jamie) of Cherokee, Ala.; one great-grandchild; four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Orick; her parents, Herman and Ider Carter; and two brothers, an infant, Lesley Carter, and Bearl Carter.
