Mary Alice Walker, 81, died July 12, 2008, at the House of Grace in Hayden, Ala. She attended Murray State College in Murray, Ky., to pursue her love of art. She served her church faithfully for 60 years in Paducah, Ky., and then in Springville, Ala., by attending regularly and by doing the advertising and church bulletins. She was talented in music and played a variety of musical instruments. She was an energetic person and loved serving others.
Services were at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Survivors included her stepmother, Ruby Brown (Horace) of Margerum, Ala.; one brother, William Walker (Deborah) of Iuka; one sister, Edna Workman (Charles) of Birmingham, Ala.; two nephews, Charlie Workman of Birmingham, Ala., and Jesse Walker (Miranda) of Nashville, Tenn.; one niece, Caroline Walker of Iuka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Winnie Morris Walker; one nephew, Bryce Smith; one niece, Glenda Earl Smith; one brother-in-law, Milford Smith; her grandparents, William “Buster” Walker and Jeannie Bell Walker; her grandmother, Sarah Morris.
