Bettye Ann Parker, 58, died May 1, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center. A native of Sledge, she was born March 8, 1949, to the late Edgar and Anna Sims Swan. She was a 1986 graduate of the Northeast Community College School of Nursing and had worked in health care for nearly 30 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of Barnes Crossing Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jessie Parker, who preceded her in death April 23, 2004.
Services were May 2 at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with burial in the Parker Family Cemetery in the Unity community.
Survivors included two daughters, Kaye Flanagin (Mackie) of Unity and Ann Smith (Ed) of Amory; two sons, John Parker (Barbara) and Jessie Parker of Unity; one brother, Fred Swan of Tunica; six grandchildren, Mandy Flanagin, Morgan Parker, Savannah Parker, Jessica Smith, Page Smith and Danielle Reynolds; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Flanagin and Elijah Smith.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Swan, Robert Swan and Kenneth Swan; two sisters, Mattie Glover and Lena Mae Swan; and one granddaughter, Samantha Parker.
