Services and burial for Barry Bland, 44, of Tunica, Mississippi were held Oct. 11, 2008 at First Community Church in Dundee, Miss. Mr. Bland died October 5, 2008 in Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, Miss.
He was born November 4, 1963 in Lambert, Miss. to Caldonia Bland and the late James Bland, Sr. He grew up in Tibbs, Mississippi and attended Sledge Elementary, Quitman County High School and Northwest Jr. College. He served in the Army National Guard.
Mr. Bland leaves to cherish his memory a special friend, Patricia Madden; his mom, Caldonia Bland of Tunica, MS; two sons, Christopher Wallace of Sledge, Miss. and Daniel Bland of Horn Lake, Miss.; one daughter, Simone Bland of Memphis, Tenn.; one grandchild; four sisters, Debra (James) Peters of Biloxi, MS; Carolyn (James) Pinson of Houston, TX; Sherry (Gary) Morgan of Memphis, Tenn. and Marilyn (Chris) Gray of Starkvile, Miss.; seven brothers, Edgar (Mona) Bland of Byhalia, Miss.; Derrick (Sicilia) Bland, Kenneth Bland and Bobby (Maria) Bland, all of Titusville, Fla.; James (Linda) Bland, Rodney Bland and Anthony (Stacey) Bland, all of Tunica, Miss.
