Services for Dorothy McIver Powell, 93, formerly of Tunica, were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Evansville Baptist Church, with burial in Singleton Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Powell, a retired supervisor of housekeeping for Tunica County Hospital, died Dec. 13 at Hernrico Doctors Hospital, Parham Campus in Richmond, Va. She was a lifelong Tunica resident.
She is survived by her three children, Gwen Powell Smith (Truman) of Richmond, Va; Shelby Powell Varner (Lemiel “Bud”) of Louisville, Miss. and Jesse Lewers Powell Jr. (Frances) of Tunica, Miss.; a sister, Bernice McIver Fewell of Sarah; a sister-in-law, Polly Moore Powell of Sarah, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
