Boyce Neil Cole, 93, of Batesville, Ark., died January 14, 2009, at his son’s home in San Antonio, Texas. Born in rural Newark, Ark. on September 15, 1915, to Walter and Effie Arnold Cole, Boyce lived in Memphis and Jonesboro, Arkansas, before moving to Batesville, where he lived several years. He was a retired accountant and worked several years for Frolic Footwear in Jonesboro and Carlos Well Supply in Memphis. Boyce was a Methodist and a member of the Jonesboro Moose Lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed tinkering with gasoline engines, especially outboard motors. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lela Alexander Cole; by his son-in-law Harris Renfroe; and by nine brothers and sisters. Survivors included his wife, Lillian Cooper Cole of Tunica; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Charlotte Cole of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Ellen Renfroe of Batesville, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. A memorial service was held at Emerson Memorial Chapel in private burial. Notify Administrator about this message?
