Grover Morris Bohannon Jr., 65, died March 1, 2009, at the Sanctuary Hospice House, where he had briefly resided. He was born Oct. 17, 1943, in Tunica to Grover M. Bohannon Sr. and Marjorie McDaniel Bohannon. He graduated from Tunica High School and received his bachelor of arts degree in sound engineering from Memphis State University.
He was well known in the music and recording business in the mid-South. He worked for Spax Studio, Muscle Shoals Sound and Sounds of Memphis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
His request for anatomical donations to enhance medical research was honored. The family had a private memorial service at a later date. Holland-Harris Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included one son, William Bohannon of Memphis; one daughter, Amy Bohannon of Fayetteville, Ark.
