Services for Wilford J. “Buck” Spencer Jr., 81, were held on Saturday, April 25 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Pioneer Chapel in Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Spencer was born Sept. 27, 1927 in Sarah, Miss.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, and he re-enlisted and went to Germany. He loved sports and country music and he regularly attended the morning Breakfast Club at the Stockyard Café. He worked at the door manufacturing unit at Maywood for 32 years. He also was a coin collector. He loved his family and looked forward to going to Mississippi at Thanksgiving. He was preceded in death by his wives, Rita and Darlene, his parents, and a step-son, David Morris.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Sharon; four brothers, J.R. Spencer, Roy E. Spencer, Wilton Spencer and Billy Spencer; five sisters, Bernice Davis, Hazel Lane, Evelyn Blaylock, Geraldine Parker and Dorothy Hannah; four stepgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
