proud, strong and supportive husband and father, retired TSGT Ronald “Ron” Curtis went fishing June 8, 2009. Born Feb. 25, 1949 to Riley and Nolle Curtis, he was a loving husband and friend to Ramona Curtis for 41 years. He proudly served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, leading to worldwide travel. Upon retirement, he navigated the Ohio River as museum curator for the Always a River Project. He was then employed as a security supervisor at Horseshoe Casino, where many men crossed his path and all left with their hats in their hands. He was a member of Sheffield Masonic Lodge #102, 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite, Cypress OES #195, Patron OES Sheffield #32 and a Shriner of Hamasa Temple, where he served with the Clown Unit. He is survived by a daughter, Bobbie Sue Miller and husband, Bryan; a son, Shane Curtis and wife Lisa; grandsons Josh, Ethan, Mason and Tyler; brother J.B. Curtis and wife Earline; brother, Sandy Curtis and wife Glenda and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Masonic and military memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15 at Veteran’s Park, Shelter 2 in Florence, Miss. Notify Administrator about this message?
