Samuel L. Rogers, 86, died June 17, 2008, at his residence. He was formerly of Martin in Union County. He was born on Jan. 25, 1922. He was retired from Feutorian Manufacturing Company and loved fishing.
Services were at the United Funeral Service Chapel. Burial was at Martin Cemetery.
Survivors included his daughter-in-law, Barbara Turner;
two grandsons, Samuel Scott Rogers and Timothy D. Rogers; three granddaughters, Jeannie Porter, Pameula Rogers and Jamie Turner; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Mayo Rogers; one son, Samuel D. Rogers; one daughter, Margaret Ann Rogers; one sister, Annie Grace Hill; two brothers, Lacy and Cecil Rogers.
