Cora Thompson Prewett, 88, died June 22, 2008, at her home. She was born April 11, 1920, in the New Harmony community of Union County to Joseph Arthur Thompson and Maudie Pearl Caldwell Thompson. She was a seamstress with Futorian Manufacturing Company and a member of the Midway First Baptist Church at Sumrall.
Services were at United Funeral Service Chapel in New Albany with burial in New Albany City Cemetery.
Survivors included one daughter, Elizabeth "Libby" Riley (Mike) of Lumberton; one son, Lewis Wayne Prewett of Dumas; two sisters, Berma Beasley Prewett of Tupelo and Dot Langford of New Albany; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis K. Prewett; five sisters, Bessie Robbins, Mary Lucy Pearce, Frances Scarbrough, Virgie Beard and Lillie Belle Gregory; three brothers, Charles, Joseph and George Thompson.
