Opal Lee Brown, 84, died June 30, 2008, at Darlington Oaks in Verona. She was born on April 12, 1924, at Jugfork in Union County to Lonnie E. and Nancy Elizabeth (Pannell) Bell. She was a retired inspector in the dry cleaning business. She was a member of Ellistown Baptist Church where she was a former choir member, Sunday School teacher and active in Vacation Bible School.
Services were at Ellistown Baptist Church with burial at Ellistown Cemetery. United Funeral Service of New Albany was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included two daughters, Nancy McLemore and Linda Rogers (Elbert), both of Olive Branch; one son-in-law, Micheal McCarter of Blue Springs; two sisters, Mamie Hill of Tupelo and Jettie Bridges of Pontotoc; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jamie Brown; two daughters, Sandra McCarter and Martha Ann Brown; two sisters, Macie Miller and Ruth Parker; three brothers, Lewis, Paul and Lonnie Bell.
